Sauls and Chancey entered guilty pleas to the cocaine charges before Judge Jeffrey Kight in Pierce County Superior Court August 19.
The pair were each sentenced to three years probation and were ordered to pay $2,000 in fines.

The local charges came after the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in arresting the couple at their home in Pierce County in May.

Preliminary information indicated the parents delayed reporting the death and were in possession of a substance later determined to be cocaine at the time.
An autopsy was completed by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler. The results of the autopsy have not been made public.
