
Waters
Carolyn Davis Waters, 80, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Blackshear January 23, 1945, she lived in Pierce County all her life. She was a 1962 graduate of Blackshear High School. Over the years she worked as a pink lady for the Pierce County Hospital and worked for Pic-NSave before opening her own daycare, Waters Daycare. Affectionately known as “Kiki”, she loved and nurtured children for 30 years. She later worked as a PSA for Altamaha Heath Care for a short time. She was very talented, which is evident in her many paintings and drawings. She was a caregiver at heart and helped care for anyone who needed it. She enjoyed being with her family and dearly loved them. She was a member of Gospel Tabernacle in Macon.
She was a daughter of the late James Dewey and Madese Bennett Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Waters; a sister, Janice Redding and by both of her brothers, Pomeroy Davis and Roger Davis.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Joshua Peacock, Alma; her son and daughter-in-law, Neal Waters and Brenda Thigpen, Waycross; four sisters, Mildred (Virgil) Taylor, Alma, Lucy Day, Waycross and Elaine Day and Judy Carter, both of Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Breanna (Mitch) Sinclair, Ken Waters (Tracy Jones), Alec Sweat, Reagin Peacock, Jada Peacock, Thomas Thigpen and Abby Booth; a greatgrandchild, Hunner Sinclair and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, from the Pearson- Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Howde Shell officiating.
Interment followed in the Waters Cemetery.
Mrs. Waters’ daycare babies served as honorary pallbearers.
