Pierce County High School’s volleyball team put together a second straight three-win week to climb to within one game of reaching the .500 mark.
The Lady Bears improved to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in Region 3-AA play after an opening 0-5.
PCHS’s early season road odyssey had the Lady Bears playing Tuesday, August 19 in Tifton against host Tift County and Ware County.
Pierce County turned back the Lady Gators 25-16, 2520. PCHS rallied to beat the Lady Blue Devils 23-25, 2517, 15-10.
The Lady Bears hosted their first home match of the season Thursday, August 21 in the newly renovated old Bears Den which included a pre-game light show.
PCHS completed the season sweep of Brantley County in the opener winning 25-13, 25-13. The Lady Bears also swept the August 12 meeting in Caney Bay with a 25-9, 25-10 decision.
Region foe Appling County overcame a one-set deficit in the finale, posting a 15-25, 25-18, 15-8 decision.
PCHS traveled Tuesday, August 26 to St. Simons Island for a match with Frederica Academy and Habersham. The Lady Bears travel Thursday, August 28 to Valdosta to face Lowndes and Brunswick.
They travel Thursday, September 4 to Statesboro to face the Lady Blue Devils and Effingham County.
