The summer’s second drive through farmers market for seniors took place in Offerman. Senior center staff, workers from the town of Offerman and several volunteers banded together to serve an impressive early rush of seniors lined up in their vehicles, hoping to get their allotment of fresh produce and get back home before the heat of the day settled in to stay.
Approximately 139 seniors were served with the event’s distinctive bright green bag of produce and a sack lunch to take with them. The market is an effort to reach and support the elderly in a potentially underserved area of Pierce County.
