Frances Massee Register

Frances Massee Register, 98, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Baptist Village Retirement Communities in Waycross. 
She was born in Macon October 15, 1926, to the late Marion Howard Massee Jr. and Eulalie Dorminy Massee. She spent her childhood in Fitzgerald, attended Georgia State College of Women and then graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business.
Following her graduation from the University of Georgia, she moved back to Fitzgerald where she taught school. She married John C. “Jack” Register Jr., and they eventually settled in Waycross where she worked alongside her husband at Register and Lanier Pharmacy.  She was a member of Okefenokee Golf and Country Club and was an avid golfer.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waycross and the Junior Woman’s Club.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. “Jack” Register Jr.; her son, John Marion Register; two brothers, Jack Massee, Marion Massee III and a sister, Eulalie M. Woeltjen.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudia E. Register, Cleveland, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Hilary Ellen Burton and her husband Andrew, Waxhaw, NC; two great-grandchildren, Margaret Burton and Greer Burton and numerous other relatives.
The family would like to thank Baptist Village Retirement Communities for their loving care. A special heartfelt love and thank you to her caregivers and friends, Lisa, Lois, Amanda, Chris, Kenny and Tocarro.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 22, at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, from the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Village Retirement Communities, Attention: Jan Thrift, 2650 Carswell Ave., Waycross, Georgia 31503, or to Waycross First Methodist Church, 410 Williams Street, Waycross, Georgia 31501.
