Applications being accepted for Mayor’s Youth Council

The City of Waycross is currently accepting applications for the Mayor’s Youth Council, a leadership program designed to engage high school students in local government and civic involvement.

The council provides high school students with an opportunity to learn about municipal government, participate in community service, and advise city leaders on issues affecting youth in Waycross. Members will develop leadership skills, engage in meaningful dialogue with elected officials, and work on projects to positively impact the city.

Students in grades 9-12 who reside in the city regardless of their school district are eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to leadership, civic engagement, and public service.

The council is an investment in the next generation of Waycross leaders. Mayor Michael-Angelo James has urged all eligible students to apply and help shape the city’s future.
