Dist. 4 candidate sets ‘meet ‘n’ greet’ Linda Titus, a candidate for District 4 on the Waycross City Commission, holds a “meet ‘n’ greet” from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, August 23 in Monroe Park.
Music, a water slide, giveaways, and snacks will be part of the afternoon for residents to get acquainted with the candidate.
DWMA schedules special Halloween The Downtown Waycross Merchants Association (DWMA) will hold Trick-or-Treat among its businesses along with a community Trunk-or-Treat along the streets of dowtown from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 31.

Ware BOE sets called meeting
The Ware County Board of Education will hold a called meeting at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 21 at the board office, 1301 Bailey Street.
Purpose of the public meeting is to adopt the millage rate and to discuss personnel and any miscellaneous items.

Fantasy Board event Aug. 23
The City of Waycross will stage a Fantasy Board Game event from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, August 23 at C.C. McCray City Auditorium, 865 Pendleton Street.
The event is free and open to all ages and game skill levels. Gamer groups and individuals are encouraged to attend.
Youths under driving age must be accompanied by an adult.
