Charlotte Riggins ‘Sister’ Moody

HICKOX — Charlotte Riggins “Sister” Moody, 80 of Hickox, passed away Monday afternoon, August 11, 2025, at Bayview Nursing Home after a short illness.

Born January 15, 1945 in Hickox to the late Willie Major and Lula Crews Riggins, Mrs. Moody lived all of her life here. She was a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Moody, Sr.; grandson, Joshua James Moody; two brothers, Joe Riggins and C.W. Riggins.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-inlaw, James Richard Moody, Jr. and Terri of Nahunta, and Brian and Neely Moody of Hoboken; five grandchildren, Taylor (Toby) Harrell, Victoria Moody, Elizabeth Moody, Gabrielle Taormina and Grayson Taormina; one sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and Wayne Crews of Nahunta; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Margie Riggins of Nahunta; two sisters-inlaw, Ann Riggins of St. Mary’s and Blanche Riggins of Nahunta; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Thursday morning, August 14 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

A private burial was held at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sheldon Crews, Andy Riggins, Jeffery Riggins, Eddie Moody, Allen Bath, Ethan Riggins and Tommy Bath.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
