NAHUNTA – Nahunta Police Department’s Crime Suppression & Intelligence Unit arrested two people over the weekend resulting in the removal of two male offenders in the community.
Danny Lee Creamer, 53, of Patterson, was arrested Saturday, August 9 following an approximately 10:30 p.m. traffic stop on U.S. Highway 301 near McKinney Medical for an equipment violation.
During the course of the stop, Detective Brandon Todd with CSIU determined the incident involved more than a routine traffic matter.
Creamer, who is currently on active probation from a previous case, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Creamer was transported to the Brantley County Jail. Bond has not been set.
Nearly 12 hours later, Officer Jeff Sturgill responded to a residence on Florida Avenue at approximately 10 a.m.
The homeowners reported a male subject breaking into their property. The suspect was captured on the home’s security cameras. Officer Sturgill, with assistance from Brantley County deputies, began patrolling the area. Roughly 30 minutes later, Reserve Officer Andrew Altman located the suspect, Sandy Ozell Chester, 55, of Nahunta.
Chester was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Loitering and Prowling, Burglary, Aggravated Stalking and Criminal Trespass. Chester, who was out on bond from a previous case, was returned to the Brantley County Jail. His bond was denied.
Chief Brad Todd commended the teamwork and quick response of all officers involved.
“These arrests demonstrate our commitment to proactive policing and working closely with our law enforcement partners to protect the citizens of Nahunta,” said Police Chief Brad Todd.
