Accident injures city man

A Waycross man was transported by Ware County EMS to Memorial Satilla Health for injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday, August 6 on the Alma Highway, the Ware County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jamie Spaur, 32, of the 2500 block of Bland Road, was initially treated at the scene by emergency personnel then taken to the hospital. The extent of his injuries were unknown.

Ware County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Courson responded to the scene about 3:55 p.m. to find Spaur being treated by EMS and the black, Ford Escape he had been driving on its roof in a ditch on the southbound side of Alma Highway just past Old Walkertown Road.

Courson said it appeared Spaur lost control of his SUV after coming out a curve and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in the ditch.

The Georgia State Patrol arrived to take over investigation of the accident.
