Living Word details journey to reaching God’s kingdom

The Bible says:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

— John 1: 1-3, 14

Our hearts are made glad when we receive a word from a dear friend who we lost contact with through the long silent years.

Their word informed us that they were living in a foreign land and were planning to leave their country and visit us and we would be able to see them and speak face to face.

They could speak of the land they live in, of their father, of their home, and of other things there that would be strange to us. They may even stir in us an interest in returning with them to that foreign land.

In similar fashion Jesus Who is very God and was with the Father and Who created all things was said by the prophets to one day leave Heaven and visit planet earth. Jesus did come as foretold by the prophets.

He stepped out of the eternal invisible realm to step into a temporal material realm.

He was God incarnate. He took on a human body so that He might more perfectly express the life of God to humanity. With Jesus God went public with Who and What He is. Jesus as the Word was the medium that made the invisible things about God visible.

Writing is the art of expressing private ideas publicly with words inscribed on some material. By this method we have the written word of God; the Bible.

When a person is the living embodiment of the written idea and is the ideal of what is written they are the living Word. Jesus showed what a normal man after God’s pattern was like.

We choose to accept or reject an idea or ideal. Many rejected Jesus the Living Word. But to those who accepted Him and want to one day go with Him back to His land “to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

What have you done with both the written and Living Word?
