Jimmy Mikell

Jimmy Mikell, 90, of Alma passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, following a brief illness. He was surrounded by the family he cherished.
His life was a testament to the power of love and family. His journey on earth came to an end, but his legacy of love will live on through his family and friends.
He was born in Blackshear September 25, 1934, to the late Reppard Mikell and Vivian Raulerson Mikell.
He graduated from Patterson High School. He then attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where he received his bachelor’s degree. He resided in Bacon County where he and his family worked on their family farm. In 1971, he joined the Carpenters Union Local 865 in Brunswick and Local 256 in Savannah. He retired from the Carpenters Union in 2009.
He served in the United States Army and was a Bacon County Lodge 56 Master Mason.
He often expressed his gratitude for his fine family, and he was blessed to have had 67 incredible years of marriage to his loving wife, Janelle Mikell. He would proudly say that his family was one of his greatest accomplishments.
He was a devoted father to his two sons, Micky Mikell (wife April) and Mark Mikell (wife Wendy).
His grandchildren, Tyler Mikell (wife Marla), Cody Mikell (wife Sarah), Molly Clements (husband Jacob) and Hope Hall, brought immense joy to his life. His great-grandchildren, Sawyer Mikell, Stella Clements, Maggie Mikell, Barrett Clements, Jacob Smith and Dana Hall, filled his heart with happiness. His love for his family was an inspiration to all who knew him.
A private family graveside to celebrate his life and the love he gave will be held at sunset Saturday, July 19, at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Alma.
