Satilla Democrats elect officers Aug. 9 The Satilla Democrats will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9 at The Stephens Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Pkwy.

The business meeting will begin at 11:10 with elections held for officers, and action committees will be formed. For more information, follow Satilla Democrats on Facebook.

Dowling family has reunion Sunday Descendents of the family of John R. and Vandelia Dowling will hold a reunion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, August 10 at Hoboken Elementary School cafeteria, 224 Church Street.

Attendees should bring a covered dish of choice.

Community forum today in District 2 A community forum will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., today (Wednesday, August 6) at the Reagen Circle Community Center, 154 Reagen Circle.

The meeting is being staged by Pastor Dorethea Hayes of the Shower of Blessings Miracles International Ministry and is open to the public.

District 2 Commissioner Sheinita Bennet and City Manager Ulysses “Duke” Rayford are scheduled to attend, Hayes said.

Proposed poultry plant meeting topic Satilla Riverkeeper will stage a community meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, August 11 at C.C. McCray City Auditorium.

Purpose of the session is to discuss the impact proposed poultry facility in Coffee County.

Blood drive set Aug. 15 at MSH

Memorial Satilla Health will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, August 15 on the hospital.

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment to ensure the drive is sufficiently staffed and all donor slots are filled.
