Antioch gives away items Saturday Members of Historic Antioch Baptist Church, Inc., 615 Knight Avenue. will give away a variety of items from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 9 on the church grounds.

Clothes, shoes, and school supplies for all grade levels will be available for free.

Suicide Prevention Walk set Sept. 13 The Second Annual Suicide Prevention Walk will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 13 at Remnant Church of God, 3205 Memorial Drive.

There will be a host of activities in addition to the walk, which will begin about 6:30. Scheduled activities include finger and nail painting, free hot dogs, chips and drinks, an ice cream truck, gift drawings, guest speakers, information booths and Kimber Creations.

All proceeds benefit Daniel Smile, Inc., which contributes to the Daniel Bennett Scholarship. The grant is awarded annually to a high school senior.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The ministry serves people from more than a dozen counties in southeast Georgia and north Florida.

Cleanup starts at High Bluff

High Bluff Cemetery is under going its annual cleanup campaign.

Those connected to the cemetery or who would just like to help, may do so anytime during the week.

Donations for the grounds upkeep also are being accepted. They can be mailed to Dane Phelps, P.O. box 154, Folkston, 31537.

River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.

The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is August 22.

Grace Episcopal talks Taylor book Grace Episcopal Church, 401 Pendleton Street, will host a book study of The Tide is Now by renowned author and Episcopal Sister Joan Chittitster.

Sessions will be at 6 p.m. each Wednesday. Registration is available at www.gracechurchwaycross. com.

Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.

People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held September 6.

Items are available from donations by Waycross Food Distributor, Southern Acre Farm, LLC and Charlie’s Chicken.

Higher Heights has food ministry The food ministry of Higher Heights True Word of God offers items from 9 to 11 a.m., the first Thursday of each month at 979 Tebeau Street.

Next giveaway is August 7. The program is accepting donations.

Men With Power meets 1st Saturday Men With Power meets the first Saturday of each month at Faith Outreach Ministries, 200 Tebeau Street.
