Kevin Lonell Thrift

NAHUNTA — Kevin Lonell Thrift, 56, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Folkston, Thrift’s parents were Lonell Thrift and Rachel Virg inia “Dinky” Crews Byrd. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Tina Johnson; a brother, Steven Thrift; maternal grandparents, Owen and Rachel Albritton; paternal grandparents, Isaac and Ethel Thrift.

Thrift was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. He worked many years as a log truck driver for 44 Trucking. Thrift enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers, loved the outdoors and visiting with people, but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include a brother, Jamie Lovell of Blackshear; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca Harris (Chris Maynes) of Hoboken; Chrissy Thrift (Brennan Eason) of Jesup; Susan Zuniga (Israel) of Brantley County; and Lorean Hunt (Carlton) of Blackshear; his biological mother, Delores Albritton Lovell of Blackshear; special aunt and uncle, Jane andFred Albritton of Hickox; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Grady Albritton officiating.

Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Martin Zuniga, Tracy Harris, Jimbo Cothern, Joe Godwin, Homer Wood and Earl Ribron.

Honorary pallbearers were employees of 44 Trucking.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
