“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 NAHUNTA — Elmira Victoria Armstrong, 68, departed this life on June 5, 2025.
Mrs. Armstrong was born April 23, 1957, to the late Reverend Rayford and the late Mae Etta Blue, Sr., in Waynesville.
She was a very special individual who knew her life was purposefully and divinely orchestrated by God.
Always seeking ways to improve her intellectual skills, she received her formal education at Brantley County High School in Nahunta. After graduation, she continued her education at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia.
Mrs. Armstrong accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the early age of 10 and was united with Little Rock Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Friendship Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member.
Mrs. Armstrong relocated to Missouri and joined Victory Tabernacle in 2003, where she served as the Praise and Worship Leader. She later relocated back to Georgia, where she made her home.
She was united in holy matrimony with Derrick Armstrong, Sr., in Miami, Fla. Their union was blessed with one child, Derrick Rossano Armstrong,

Mrs. Armstrong lived a meaningful life and enjoyed going to the flea market, dancing, and listening to music. She also enjoyed going to the beach and eating crabs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Etta Blue; father, Reverend Rayford Blue, Sr.; brothers, Rayford Blue, Jr., and Isaac Blue; and her sister, Nova Dean Carpenter.
Mrs. Armstrong leaves to cherish her memories: son, Derrick Rossano Arm strong, Jr.; granddaughter, Katalaya Victoria Armstrong; sisters, Frances Taylor, Mary (Raymond) Duenas and Sarah Williams; uncle, Frank (Carol) Williams and David Blue; sister-inlaw, Athena Blue; brotherin- law, James Carpenter; aunts, Elmira Blue, Edith Blue, and Ethel Lacy; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Martin’s Funeral Home, of Brunswick was in charge of arrangements.
