Opening day for the 2025-2026 school year arrived on a dreary Monday with overcast weather and intermittent showers in the area.
There were the usual traffic back ups and all schools in the county implemented a new weapons detection system, but no major ‘first day’ problems were reported.
Monday’s weather was a continuation of the rainy conditions that moved in about midday Sunday, but a little water did not deter attendees to the various prayer walks held at Pierce schools the evening before classes resumed.
