The engagement and approaching marriage of Caroline DeVane Stewart of Blackshear to Ross Andrew Ferrell of Folkston has been announced. Stewart is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gaskin Stewart, Sr., Blackshear. Ferrell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Alan Ferrell, Waycross.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Needham Carey Hatcher, Jr. and Betty DeVane Hatcher, Albany, and the late Mr. and Mrs James Earnest Stewart, Jr.,Waycross.
Stewart attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. and has a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing and Communications with a minor in Business Administration and another in Entrepreneurship. Her area of specialization is in magazine news and publishment. She is a member of Phi Mu sorority Stewart is National Account Sales Manager for Peanut Patch Boiled Peanuts and serves on the board of directors for the Magnolia House in Waycross. She is on the Board of Directors for the Southern Leadership Division. Stewart is also an active member of Waycross First Methodist Church and a member of the Camellia Garden Club.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Elmo Harris, Tifton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Ferrell, Jr., Augusta.
Ferrell attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and has a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is the owner of Ferrell Timber and District Supervisor of the Soil and Water Conservation Commission for Charlton County. He is an active member of Waycross First Methodist Church.
Ferrell is the proud father of two sons, John Henry Ferrell, 9, and William Lawrence Ferrell, 6.
The couple will marry September 13 at the Waycross First Methodist Church. Invitation have been mailed.
