WAYCROSS — Karen Diane Taylor, 68, of Waycross died Wednesday evening, July 23, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Marietta, Ga., to the late Gilford H. Taylor and Mollie Faye Gillis Strickland, and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She was an Licensed Practical Nurse that worked at many different nursing homes in Waycross
Taylor
throughout the years. She also worked in home health care and Satilla Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed listening to music and loved her animals, especially Ellie and Sweet Pea. Mrs. Taylor attended Grace Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Conway Strickland and Kelly Lee; a grandson, Tristian Lee Bennett; and her stepfather, Zeke Strickland.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Jessica Jordan, husband Daniel, of Blackshear; eight grandchildren, Lawton Lee, Kaitlyn Bozarth, husband Caleb, Hannah Cruz, husband Ryan, Amber Strickland, Jaylin Bennett, Gabriella Jordan, Sage Jordan, and Poet Jordan; several great-grandchildren; three siblings, Walter Taylor, wife Becky, Debra Strickland, and Terry Strickland, wife Vicki; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
