Miracle League now accepting sign-ups

Miracle League Fall Baseball and Cheerleading registration will be held from now until August 15. Games will be held on Tuesday evenings at Trembling Earth Sports Complex in Ware County, September 16 – October 28. Registration fee is $20. Sponsorships/ fee waivers are available and coupon codes can be found under the product description tab during registration. Register online at https://www. miracleleagueokefenokee. com.

Games will be played Tuesdays on the Miracle League’s accessible Field of Dreams at the Trembling Earth Sports Complex. Games begin at 5:30 p.m. for youth, followed by game 2 at 6 p.m. and game 3 at 7:30 p.m. Games will last about one hour.

Cheerleaders report to the field at 6 p.m. for practice and perform after the first game.

The season opener is Tuesday, September 16 and the season runs through Tuesday, October 28.

The end of season cookout and awards will be held at the last game.

All games will be played at the Miracle League Field at the Trembling Earth Sports Complex in Ware County.

Jerseys are only guaranteed for those participants who register by August 15. This is due to the time constraints of the jersey provider.

The Miracle League of the Okefenokee provides a structured baseball and cheerleading program for individuals ages 5 and up, with disabilities that would otherwise not be able to participate in traditional programs.

Facts about the game:

• Each game is two innings; each player gets to bat twice.

• All players are safe on the bases.

• Every player scores a run before the inning is over.

• Each team and each player win every game.

• Community volunteers serve as ‘buddies’ to assist players with help batting, pushing wheelchairs, going around the bases, etc. Family members may buddy with players.

• Cheerleaders will perform in between the first and second game.

• Players receive a jersey and cap, and cheerleaders receive a shirt and bow.
