They had the best view in town, but it must have been hot up there! Pictured above, several workers with Howell Roofing Company stop for a moment to cheer and wave for the camera. Earlier this month, Howell Roofing replaced the roof of the historic Pierce County courthouse. At the time, July 11, temperatures were recorded as still only a brisk 94 degrees but it must have felt even hotter with no available shade while working. Even so, the workers seemed in good spirits and yelled for The Times photographer to join them up top.
