WAYCROSS — Mr. James Michael “Mike” Boyd, 57 of Waycross, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his residence.
Born February 28, 1968 in Annie Arundel, Md., Boyd lived in Ware and Pierce Counties most of his life. He was a former forklift operator having worked for B-Way, Dollar General and Varn Wood. Boyd loved to fish and work around the house.
He was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Boyd was a son of the late James Patten and Barbara Jean Callahan Boyd.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Joyce Murray Boyd of Waycross; his son, Jason (Brandy) McKinney of Blackshear; two sisters, Frieda (Robbie) Thomas and Michelle Crawl all of Columbus; three brothers, Rick (Fatou) Callahan, Raymond Callahan and Eric (Anethia) Callahan all of Columbus; four grandchildren, Zachary, Keely, Cagen and Hayden McKinney; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Interment followed in the Big Creek Cemetery.
