Nahunta’s Centennial Art Exhibit & Wine Tasting event

NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Art Association held an art exhibit and wine tasting Thursday afternoon as part of the Centennial celebration at the Creative Corner.

The theme for the July 24 exhibit was “A Moment of Time.” The event consisting of local artists involved with the association who contributed artwork of landmarks throughout the city over the years.

In addition to the artwork, there was also several vendors who showcased various projects such as jewelry, pottery, photography, fiber arts and wood crafts.

Rabbiteye Wine, located in Bristol, also gave the citizens who attended samples of their wines.

Art Association President Carolyn Gill thought it was an interesting idea to include the various artworks created by those in the city as a reflection of how much history the city had and continues to have.

“I think it’s an honor to be a participant,” Gill said. “It’s a time to recollect days gone by.”

Individuals who had their artwork on display for the exhibit were Carolyn Gill, Cathy Dee Janes, Lynn Jones, Karen Harrell, Christa Belle, Michelle Raulerson, Linda Zangle, Jackie Collins and Ralph J. Mitchell.

The Brantley County Art Association members dressed up as flappers in the 100 Years Parade Through the Decades.
