Ruth Rebecca Thomas

WAYCROSS — Mrs. Ruth Rebecca Thomas, 89, passed away Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla following a short illness.

She was born September 2, 1935 in Fairfax, Ga., to the late Estell and Emma Waters Sweat. Mrs. Thomas will be rem embered as a loving mother and grandmother, devoted homemaker, and seamstress. She was a member of Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Ray Thomas; son, Jimmie Wayne Thomas; daughter, Delanie Music; sonin- law, Billy Musgrove; granddaughter, Nicole Thomas; grandsons, Pierce and Austin Lee; siblings, James Sweat, Virgil Sweat, Tommy Sweat, Juanita Sowell and Emmaline McDaniel; and special friend, Jim Tatum.

Survivors include her son, Darrell Thomas of Waycross; daughters, Cheryl Musgrove of Nicholls, and Faye Cason (Ronnie) of Millwood; son-in-law, Ronnie Music of Millwood; grandchildren, Becky Coker (Jaime) of Nicholls, Sonny Higgs of Douglas, Bridgett Thomas of Brunswick, Amanda Wilson (Brock) of Argyle, Kayla Vickers (Jason) of Ambrose, and Satilla Lang (Ben) of Nahunta; great grandchildren, Auedrina Thomas, Blake Higgs, Addyson Vickers, Zayden Wilson, Preston Darrell Thomas, Logan Wilson (Hannah), Caleb Wilson (Carly), and Madison Wilson; sisters, Wilma Murray of Waycross, and Sadie Musgrove (Harvey) of Millwood; sister- in-law, Mary Jo Worth of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 19 at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
