HOBOKEN — Mr. Jerry Wayne Dickerson, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.
He was born in Hoboken to the late Luther Emory Dickerson and Nancy Mayleen Herrin Dickerson. He retired as a conductor from CSX Transportation and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear. He also had served on the Hoboken City Counsel for a number of years and was a former deacon at Hoboken Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Emory Dickerson and Luther Ladon Dickerson.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Dickerson of Hoboken; two children, Brent Dickerson (Heather) of Hoboken and Chrissie Rentz (Anthony) of Clover, S.C.; two stepchildren, Dr. Amanda Jones (Clint) of Erie, Pa. and Michael Letchworth (Emmie) of White, Ga.; three grandchildren, Caleb Rentz, Greyson Rentz, and Lydia Rentz; two step grandchildren, Laylen Letchworth and Lynley Letchworth; a sister, Margaret Stevens of Hoboken; a special niece, Linda Chesser of Nahunta; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 19 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
