WAYCROSS — Mrs. Ora Bell Cooper, 82, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.

She was born in Pavo, Ga., to the late Otis Scott and Elizabeth Reed Scott, but was raised in Nahunta by her great aunt and uncle, the late Turner and Rosa Lee Hall. She was a retired teacher from Headstart in Waycross and a longtime member of Northside Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hueston Cooper; a daughter, Tammy T. Harris; a brother, A.C. Scott; and a sister, Alice Scott.

She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Cooper of East Point, Ga., and Craig Cooper (Nikki) of Warner Robins; a grandson, Sean Harris of Atlanta; and her best friend, Rose Tarber of Waycross.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Northside Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 25 at Music Funeral Home.
