Exchange honors top members

Special to the WJH

The Waycross Exchange Club recognized exceptional contributions of members at a weekly meeting last month at the club’s headquarters.

The event highlighted individuals who have exemplified dedication and service to both the club and the community.

The recipients of this year’s awards were:

• Jimmy Strickland with M.C. Thomas Award for the most outstanding fair worker of the year;

• Robbie Roberson with Erin W. Johnson Award for outstanding service to the community;

• Mary Louise Synder as Exchangite of the Year, awarded to the member who best supports the ideals of the Exchange Club at local, district, and national levels;

• Kirby McSwain with the President’s Award for most helpful service above self presented by club president David Johnson.

Jake Strickland, who earned the Ben Thornton Trophy for the Most Congenial Exchangite of the Year, was unable to attend the awards ceremony.

The honorees were given commemorative plaques and heartfelt recognition from their peers.

The backdrop of the event featured the club’s banner proudly displaying “Waycross, Georgia,” alongside a display of past achievements and memorabilia.

The local club continues a tradition of fostering community service and camaraderie, with this year’s awards reflecting the diverse talents and unwavering commitment of members.
