JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mrs. Linda LaVonne Peters (nee Gunter) passed away quietly at home in Jacksonville, Fla., Monday, July 14, 2025 at the age of 82.
Mrs. Peters was born March 13, 1943 in Waycross to the late A.C. Gunter and Corrine LaVonne Howell Gunter. She graduated from Hoboken High School in 1961.
Mrs. Peters enjoyed raising her children, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and Rock ’n Roll, Country and Old-Time music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Russell Peters, her husband of 48 years, and sister, Jo Ann Wiley.
Survivors include her sister, Darlene Thompson (Al); children, Mark Peters (Karen), Danny Peters, Tony Peters and Nancy Green (Neil) of Jacksonville, Fla.; aunt, Lorraine Dixon and Marie Strickland of Waycross; and numerous cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday July 26, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at High Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday July 25 at the funeral home.
