NAHUNTA – Steve Foster “Timer” Causey, 76 of Nahunta, passed away Monday morning, July 14, 2025 at River Brook Nursing Home in Homerville after an extended illness.
Born in Hortense, Causey’s parents were Joshua Burnice Causey and Pansy Holm a n Causey. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James C. “Jim” and Lillie Anderson Causey; his maternal grandparents, James C. and Siddy L. Benfield Holman; three brothers, John Causey, Buck Causey and Sam Causey; three sisters, Billie Sue Brauda, Burnice Causey and Patricia Morrell; two brothers-in-law, Craig Morrell and Leroy Walker; and two nephews, Timmy Walker and Ricky Walker.
Causey worked at Georgia Fabrics and served in the United States Army. He loved old cars and going to car shows.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Alice “Sweet” Walker of Nahunta; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob Causey (Denise) of Brunswick; a sister-inlaw, Sandra Causey; a brother-in-law, Claude Brauda; and also several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Sheldon Rowell, Sr. officiating.
Burial followed in Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stacy Walker, Kyle Crews, Tony Cribbs, Camron Ribron, Chris Ribron and Buddy Howe.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta, GA.
