Brantley County Rec taking fall signups through August 2 NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Rec Department is currently taking fall signups through Saturday, August 2 and asking for volunteer coaches.
Registration for Little Kickers (ages 3-4), soccer (6u thru 14u), cheer (6u thru 12u), flag football (ages 5-6) and football (8u thru 12u) is $60. A late registration fee of $70 will be charged from August 3 through August 9.
Evaluations (if needed) are scheduled for Saturday, August 9.

Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy Color Run is August 2 ATKINSON — The Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy is holding a Gospel Color Run Saturday, August 2.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for ages 5 and up. Younger participants must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be games, crafts and food.

BCSO second 4-man scramble set for Aug. 9 at The Lakes NAHUNTA – The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office is holding its second annual 4-man scramble Charity Golf Tournament Saturday, August 9 at the Laura S. Walker Lake Golf Course.
Check in starts at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is $400 with a 28-team limit. Deadline is Monday, July 28.
The payout is $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third. Hole prizes will be awarded.
MSH to host blood drive Fri., Aug. 15 on main campu WAYCROSS — Memorial Satilla Health will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, August 15 on the hospital’s main campus, 1900 Tebeau Street.
Donors are encouraged to make an appointment to ensure the drive is sufficiently staffed and all donor slots are filled. The Blood Connection is currently facilitating Memorial Satilla’s drives.

OHC writer’s group meets twice in Aug.
WAYCROSS — The Okefenokee Heritage Center Writer’s Group will meet bi-monthly from 6 to 8 p.m. on alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Next month’s meetings will be Tuesday, August 7 and Thursday, August 19 at the center, 1460 N. Augusta Avenue.

OATH announces changes to its operating hours The Okefenokee Alliance for the Homeless has changed its hours.
The new hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays. Lunch is served to homeless clients from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Daily hours 1-5 p.m. are by appointment only. The facility previously was open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
