Letter to Editor

Moore should have sought board approval

Editor, The Times: I have a view point I would like to write concerning the recent firing of Pierce County Library manager La-Vonnia Moore.

It is unfortunate that she has been terminated, a consequence of her not seeking higher-ups approval to move forward with a concept of a book program that enlists susceptible children to engage in transgenderism without the parental permission.

Believe me when I say that parents will know when their child is beginning to look at their bodies and approaches life differently. The transformation occurs as they grow up.

Ms. Moore should have been wise enough to seek upper level approval before engaging children with such a controversial program.

By seeking a more knowledgeable and supportive understanding from the library board, she could have derailed the controversy going on today. Ms. Moore may have thought that her being the library manager is enough authority to promote a highly controversial display on her own. Well, her approach backfired. She should have sought support for her decision.

Before this situation is resolved, the political and race cards will come into play by the time the courts get involved.
