James Michael “Mike” Boyd, 57, of Waycross, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Annie Arundel, MD February 28, 1968, he lived in Ware and Pierce Counties most of his life.
He was a former forklift operator having worked for B-Way, Dollar General and Varn Woodyard. He loved to fish and work around the house.
He was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late James Patten and Barbara Jean Callahan Boyd.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Joyce Murray Boyd, Waycross; his son, Jason (Brandy) McKinney, Blackshear; two sisters, Frieda (Robbie) Thomas and Michelle Crawl, all of Columbus; three brothers, Rick (Fatou) Callahan, Raymond Callahan and Eric (Anethia) Callahan, all of Columbus; four grandchildren, Zachary, Keely, Cagen and Hayden McKinney and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Wayne County.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, from the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery.
