Jerry Wayne Dickerson

Jerry Wayne Dickerson, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, following an extended illness. 

He was born in Hoboken to the late Luther Emory Dickerson and Nancy Mayleen Herrin Dickerson.  He retired as a conductor from CSX Transportation and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear. He had also served on the Hoboken City Council for a number of years and was a former deacon at Hoboken Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Emory Dickerson and Luther Ladon Dickerson. 

Survivors include his wife, Anita Dickerson, Hoboken; two children, Brent Dickerson (Heather), Hoboken and Chrissie Rentz (Anthony), Clover, SC; two step-children, Dr. Amanda Jones (Clint), Erie, PA and Michael Letchworth (Emmie), White; three grandchildren, Caleb Rentz, Greyson Rentz and Lydia Rentz; two step-grandchildren, Laylen Letchworth and Lynley Letchworth; a sister, Margaret Stevens, Hoboken; a special niece, Linda Chesser, Nahunta and numerous other nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the funeral home. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, from the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
