BRUNSWICK – Southeast Georgia Health System and Coastal Community Health (CCH) have announced a strategic change aimed at preserving and strengthening pediatric care services in Glynn County.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Health System resumed full responsibility for pediatric services and staff, ensuring continued high-quality care for the community’s youngest patients.
Services will resume under the name Southeast Georgia Physician Associates–Pediatrics, returning to its original name, at two convenient locations:
• 3300 Fourth Street, Brunswick, Georgia
• 7000 Wellness Way, Suite 7230, St. Simons Island, Georgia This transition follows a partnership formed in June 2024 between the Health System and CCH to expand pediatric and support services in the region.
However, in light of uncertainty surrounding supplemental federal funding, both organizations have agreed that consolidating pediatric operations back under the Health System will provide greater longterm stability for pediatric care and allow CCH to focus on its core mission of providing primary care.
“By moving pediatric services under the Health System’s umbrella, we can continue offering comprehensive, uninterrupted care to families in Glynn County while ensuring a more sustainable path forward,” said Christy Jordan, president and CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “We deeply value our partnership with Coastal Community Health and their commitment to the community.”
Representatives from both the Health System and CCH are working closely to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition for patients and staff, with minimal disruption to care.
“This decision was not made lightly, but it reflects the real challenges facing community health centers and federally funded programs across the nation,” said Kavanaugh Chandler, MD MBA, chief executive officer, Coastal Community Health. “We are proud of the impact we’ve made and remain focused on delivering high-quality primary care services to families across our other clinics in the region. We are grateful for the strong partnership with the Health System and our shared commitment to creating a healthier community.” Both the Health System and CCH believe this change is in the best interest of the community, patients and care teams, and remain united in their shared mission to improve access to quality care in Glynn County.
