Special to The Beacon

UNDATED — South Georgia State College is providing a unique opportunity for students to begin their college journey through the SGSC Entry Program on the Valdosta State University (VSU) campus.

The SGSC Entry Program at VSU (SGSC-EP at VSU) allows students to complete core curriculum coursework in a supportive setting while experiencing VSU’s campus life and resources.

Designed to support a students’ success from the very first semester, the SGSC Entry Program at VSU gives students admitted to SGSC the ability to earn up to 30 credit hours on the VSU campus.

The program offers strong academic and transfer advantages. Participants can complete core curriculum courses to fulfill general education requirements for associate or bachelor’s degrees.

Throughout the program, students benefit from a supportive learning environment including personalized academic advising and, if needed, learning support services to help them succeed. With a minimum GPA of 2.0, students are well-positioned to transfer seamlessly into Valdosta State University or another University System of Georgia institution to continue working toward their academic and career goals.

Students benefit from access to VSU’s wide range of resources and activities, including the Odum Library, recreation center, student organizations, intramural sports and campus events. The program combines the personal attention and academic support SGSC is known for with the amenities of a larger university campus.

Students in the SGSC Entry Program may choose to live in a residence hall on the VSU campus designed for SGSC students, with the Blazer All Access meal plan available. Whether living on or off campus, students enjoy a full college experience, with access to VSU’s facilities, activities, and events.
