Rural King looking for Farmers Market vendors July 26 WAYCROSS — Rural King in Waycross is hosting a Farmers Market Saturday, July 26 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Vendors are wanted. All handmade or homegrown products and artisans are welcome.

Palmetto Pentecostal Vacation Bible School slated for July 27-30 WAYNESVILLE — Palmetto Pentecostal Church in Waynesville is holding “The Great Jungle Journey” Vacation Bible School from Sunday, July 27 through Wednesday, July 30 from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Brantley County Rec taking fall signups through August 2 NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Rec Department is currently taking fall signups through Saturday, August 2 and asking for volunteer coaches.

Registration for Little Kickers (ages 3-4), soccer (6u thru 14u), cheer (6u thru 12u), flag football (ages 5-6) and football (8u thru 12u) is $60. A late registration fee of $70 will be charged from August 3 through August 9.

Evaluations (if needed) are scheduled for Saturday, August 9.

City of Nahunta’s 100-year celebration opening ceremony NAHUNTA — The opening ceremony to begin the 100-year celebration of the City of Nahunta is scheduled from Monday, 21 at 6 p.m.

Nahunta First Baptist Church Pastor Jake Baum will start the celebration leading everyone in prayer.

Speeches from from mayors Jeffrey Lee (201216) and Barbara Maefield (2018-23), and current Mayor Marty Lee will follow. Two dogwood trees will also be planted in honor of the celebration.

Refreshments will be served in the courtroom.

Centennial Car Show slated for Friday, July 25 at courthouse NAHUNTA — The Nahunta Centennial Car Show is scheduled for Friday, July 25 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., in the Brantley County Courthouse parking lot.

Participants need to arrive between 5 p.m.-6 p.m.

There will be absolutely nor revving of engines, burnouts, racing, etc.

‘Parade Through the Decades’ scheduled for Saturday, July 26 NAHUNTA — The City Nahunta is having a “Parade Through the Decades — 1920s to present” Saturday, July 26 starting at 10 a.m.

The parade will begin at Nahunta Elementary up Hwy. 301 North to the old recreation department.

Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy Color Run is August 2 ATKINSON — The Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy is holding a Gospel Color Run Saturday, August 2.

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for ages 5 and up. Younger participants must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be games, crafts and food.

Lynes-Lyons-Hickox Reunion August 9 at Hoboken Comm. Cen.

HOBOKEN — The annual Lynes-Lyons-Hickox family reunion will be held Saturday, August 9 starting at 12 p.m., at the Hoboken Community Center.

Bring your favorite covered dish or dessert and plan to eat at 1 p.m.

Bring family pictures that you would like to share and plan to stay as long as you are able. If you have family information you wish to share, there will be plenty of time for that.

BCSO second 4-man scramble set for Aug. 9 at The Lakes NAHUNTA – The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office is holding its second annual 4-man scramble Charity Golf Tournament Saturday, August 9 at the Laura S. Walker Lake Golf Course.

Check in starts at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is $400 with a 28-team limit. Deadline is Monday, July 28.

The payout is $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third. Hole prizes will be awarded.

BCHS Class of 1975 announces 50th reunion Sept. 20 NAHUNTA — The Brantley County High School Class of 1975 announces a 50th class reunion to be held on Saturday, September 20 beginning at 5 p.m. at Honey Buns Cafe in Nahunta.

A steak and seafood buffet is planned so mark your calendar now. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
