City of Waycross has new system

After a few hiccups with implementation, the new billing and payment system for the City of Waycross is fully operational.

Finance and billing-payments were the final parts of an upgrade in the city’s computer software that began nearly 18 months ago with the acquisition of a new service provider. All aspects of the system were online beginning Friday, July 4, city officials said.

After a week’s absence, in-person payments for city services and fees has resumed. Patience with city staffers processing payments is urged as they become familiar with the new system.

The online payment system is now active at www.waycrossga.gov by clicking “online payments.” A new account number is needed to complete the registration process to pay online.

There are three ways to obtain your new account number:

• email (recommended for fastest response) to [email protected] and place new account number in the subject line and name, complete address and old account number in the email body;

• wait for a new bill, which will include the new account number;

• call (912) 287-2900, but no high call volumes may exist the first few weeks of the new system which may cause delays.

New billing statements will be mailed in the coming days so look for the updated mailing.

The new billing system offers a variety of ease-of-use features including text-topay, emailed bills, usage history/data, printing previous bills, and a new tollfree payment line at (888) 692-4920.

A first-time user guide is available on the city’s website. All residents are urged to download the MyWaycrossGa application to their mobile device to facilitate all interaction with the city.

Be reminded no overdue fees are being assessed to accounts for the period the payment system was being upgraded.
