Patterson City Council Highlights

(The Patterson City Council discussed and/or voted on the following items during their monthly meeting Thursday, July 10. ) Georgia Forestry Uni: Mayor Dedi Thomas informed the council he is in negotiations to secure the old Georgia Forestry Commission Unit on Main Street (Georgia Highway 32).

Department reports: Taylor Colley gave the public works report as superintendent and fire chief Tyler Stokes was on vacation. Colley reported work on the storage building and tennis court at Patterson City Park is underway. Police Officer Sidney Dixon gave the police report in the absence of Police Chief Nick Strickland. Dixon reported the department responded to 43 calls in June including 31 calls for service. The department made 10 traffic stops and issued three citations and investigated two accidents. City Clerk Laura Kate Dixon was not present. Assistant city clerk June Echols Bennett had nothing to report.

Brief meeting: The meeting was brief, lasting only five minutes.

Next meeting: The next regular monthly meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 14, and will also be held at Eagle Station.
