Deryl Cason

Deryl Sanford Cason, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Blackshear August 6, 1951, he lived in Pierce County all his life.  He was a life-long farmer and loved to deer hunt with his dogs. He was a son of the late Simon Shadrick and Vergie Boyette Cason. 

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wylene Woodcock and Nadine Denison and two brothers, Lavon “Peanut” Cason and Arlen Cason.

 Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Adrian and Thomas Melton, Patterson; six sisters, Audrey Rogers and Lavinia Thornton, both of Jesup, Sue Ann Denison, Offerman, Gail Moody, Jesup, Clara Latham, Thalmann and Delane Gordon,  Screven; four brothers, Kenneth Cason and Truman (Gail) Cason, both of Offerman, Donald (Virginia Faye) Cason, Patterson and Wendell Cason, Offerman; five grandchildren, Lawton O’Berry, Lindarra Melton, Trinity Melton, Passion Melton and Heaven Melton and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home with Elder Shane O’Neal officiating. 

Interment will be Saturday, July 12, in the Mill Creek Cemetery.
