The ‘rockets red glare’ lit up the night sky Independence Day Friday evening with a fireworks display at the Blackshear Church of God. The evening was pleasant, but humid and muggy, as temperatures fell back in to the 80s, following a high in the mid-90s. Brilliant colors of the display illuminated the night sky over the Blackshear Church of God at the corner of Carter Avenue and Hendry Street. The display was provided by Travis and Jesse Kiser.
