Action pact is honored to announce that their Head Start program was recently recognized for 60 years of continuous operation.
The Region IV Head Start Association recognized the program at their leadership conference. “We are honored that we have been able to provide Head Start services since its inception,” stated Ms. Diane Rogers, Executive Director. Head Start Director Angela Carr, who directs services for 12 counties including Pierce, was presented the certificate on behalf of the program.
Head Start services are for children from birth to compulsory school age, as well as pregnantwomenandexpectant families. Eligible participants include children whose families meet the federal low-income guidelines — that is, whose incomes are at or below the federal poverty guidelines or who participate in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Security Income, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Other eligible participants include children who are in foster care or experiencing homelessness. Programs may also accept a limited number of children who do not meet any of those eligibility criteria.
