Legion Post 517 meets July 9
American Legion John S. Sutton Post 517, 710 Dorothy Street, holds a meeting at 6 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 9) in the ballroom for all officers members.

Planning panel meeting canceled The Waycross-Ware County Planning Commission has canceled its meeting Thursday, July 10. The next scheduled meeting will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 14.
Ferrell elected to State Bar board Blackshear attorney Adam Ferrell has been elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 56,000-member State Bar of Georgia.
Ferrell will serve in the Waycross Judicial Circuit, Post 2 seat on the board, representing Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Pierce and Ware counties.
The new board member earned his law degree from Mercer University ‘s Walter F. George Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2004.
The Board of Governors is a 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representatives from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board meets at least four times per year.
Satilla Riverkeeper offers bug seminar Enter the world of stream critters at the Satilla Riverkeeper’s Macro Madness program from 9 to 11 a.m., July 12 at Laura S. Walker State Park, 5653 Laura Walker Road.

Ware BOE slates meetings July 14-15 The Ware County Board of Education holds its monthly meetings Monday-Tuesday, July 14-15.
Both sessions are open to the public and begin at 6 p.m. at the board office, 1301 Bailey Street. A work session is July 14 and the business meeting July 15.

Elections board meets July 15 The Ware County Board of Elections will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, at the board office, 408 Tebeau Street.
The public session also will serve as the board’s Election Day meeting since the Public Service Commission runoff is that same day.
