WAYCROSS — Mr. Thomas M. “Tommy” Sweat, 84, of Waycross, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Satilla Hospice House after a brief illness.
He was the sixth child of Estell Sweat and Emma Waters Sweat. He had lived the majority of his life in Ware County.
Sweat was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Juanita Sowell and Emmaline McDaniel, both of Waycross; and two brothers, James Sweat and Virgil Sweat, both of Waycross.
He is survived by his best friend, Jean McClellan of Waycross; three sisters, Wilma Murray of Waycross, Ruth Thomas of Waycross, and Sadie Musgrove and her husband, Harvey, of Millwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.
A funeral service was held Saturday, July 5 at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
