Terry Lynn Griffin

BLACKSHEAR — Ms. Terry Lynn Griffin, age 67, of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, July 4, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.

Born May 24, 1958, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late James Carl Griffin, Sr. and Ann ette Henderson Griffin. Ms. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Pierce County, and while her life had many health challenges through the years, she embraced each challenge with courage and grace.

She found joy in many activities with her family, including fishing and riding in a boat, riding and seeing people and the sights in town; riding the UTV, visiting her Aunt Eleanor at the nursing home, watching Wheel of Fortune every day with Aunt Colleen, going to the beach, listening and dancing to music, and watching the University of Georgia Bulldogs and “Come Follow Me.” She was also very patriotic and loved wearing clothing with the United States flag represented.

Above all, she found joy in the Lord as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Waycross. She enjoyed attending church, wearing shirts that displayed her faith, and looked forward to reading her Bible every night at 10 o’clock.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James Carl “Jay” Griffin, Jr.; grandparents, James William “Jim” and Ada Pauline Tillman Griffin, and James Harry and Birdie Mae Dixon Henderson; and special friend, Betty Hood.

Survivors include her sister, Tammy A. Griffin of Blackshear; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Neal and MaryJane Griffin, of Blackshear; niece, Miranda Annette Griffin; nephew, Thomas Blake Minchew (wife Victoria); great niece, Sophia Minchew, great nephew, Buxton Minchew; aunts and uncles, Colleen Griffin, Eleanor Griner, and Pat Griffin, all of Blackshear, Betty Ammons (husband Danny) of Jesup; Ander Henderson of Kingsland, and Connie Henderson of Lake Lanier, Ga.; special friend, Timmy Hood of Alma; and numerous cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Waycross. A graveside service took place Monday, July 7 in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
