Plane crash response exercise

Plane crash response exercise
Memorial Satilla Health’s Emergency Management Coordinator Santo Nino facilitates a medical surge training exercise during a Region M Healthcare Coalition meeting last month at South Georgia State College. The drill simulated a plane crash with dozens of patients experiencing varying degrees of trauma. The scenario allowed first responders, local and state agencies, regional hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other coalition members to activate their Emergency Operations Plans and Procedures. The exercise was invaluable for identifying areas to enhance our response strategies and for taking inventory of the resources available within our community during such an event, officials said.
