Coastal Pines Technical College recently brought its Integrated Education and Training (IET) to the Pierce County Adult Education Center at Eagle Station in Patterson.
Students at Patterson demonstrated increasing interest in the (IET) programs.
The IET program blends academic instruction with career training, allowing adult learners to build essential skills while earning workforce credentials. This 'learn and earn' model supports both personal and professional growth. Workplace Literacy improves onthe- job reading, writing, math, and communication skills through employer partnerships, helping students thrive in real work environments. Building a strong foundation for both academic and workplace achievement.
During the visit, GED students Tiffany Parra and April Strickland attentively listened as Anna White, Adult Education IET & Workplace Literacy Coordinator for Coastal Pines, outlined the program details, benefits and schedule.
Both students expressed enthusiasm about enrolling in certificate programs.
'I'm currently working in the food industry. Pursuing a ServSafe certification while completing my GED makes sense. After obtaining my GED, I plan to continue my education through a Coastal Pines degree program or similar pathway,” Parra said.
The presentation is aimed at inspiring students to recognize the opportunities to develop essential skills and achieve their educational goals.
