Rec. Dept. to host Brazilian Soccer Camp
The Pierce Rec Department has opened registration for their summer Brazilian soccer camp. Parents are invited to sign their kids up for soccer fun with expert coaching and skill development in a safe and enriching environment.
Camp runs from Monday - Friday, beginning July 21 with three time brackets. Full day: ages 9-14, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Half day: ages 7-14, 9 a.m. - noon Future stars: ages 4-6, 3-4 p.m.
Location is Tiger Field, 705 College Ave. in Blackshear.
NFL player to conduct training camp
Former NFL defensive tackle Hollis Thomas Jr. will host a training camp for Pierce County youngsters July 14 and 15.
The event will take place from 9 a.m.-noon p.m. July 14-15 at Tiger Field.
The event is sponsored by Charlissa Culp and Associates and the Pierce County Recreation Department.
The program is free and is open to boys and girls ages 6-17.
The program will provide skills training, drills, mentorship and motivation.

A native of Abilene, TX, he played college football at Northern Illinois.
