Holladay
BLACKSHEAR — Phillip Terry “Doc” Holladay, 71, of Blackshear, died Thursday evening, June 19, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.
Holladay was born in Waycross to the late William Thomas Holladay and Nancy Louise Range Holladay, and made South Georgia his home for all his life. He was a graduate of Waycross High School, Class of 1972, and went on to work and retire from Gilman Paper Company. He was a socializer and military enthusiast — from reading to collecting, he enjoyed studying and learning about all branches of the military.
Holladay is survived by two sisters, Lynne Jacobs of Waycross, and Kay Holladay of Woodstock, Ga.; a nephew, Michael Jacobs (Beth) of Waycross; a niece, Jennifer Sweat (Eric) of Waycross; great nieces and nephews, Jenna Sweat, Brynley Sweat, Britt Sweat, Shea Wilson, Lauren Tirchi, and Alyssa Deal; along with numerous other relatives.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 27 at Miles-Odum Funeral Home. A private burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
