HOBOKEN — Mrs. Nellie Thomas Swain, 79, died Tuesday night, June 17, 2025 at her residence in Hoboken after an extended illness.
Mrs. Swain was born July 29, 1945 in Leachville, Ark., to the late Lewis Frank Thomas and Mattie Victoria Copeland Thomas. She was formerly employed as a pharmacy tech for Browning’s Pharmacy, Medicine Shoppe, and Walgreen’s, and she was a member of Pebble Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swain was preceded in death by her husband, David Edgar Swain; and three brothers, Herman Lee Stacy, Virgil Leroy Thomas, and Thomas Leo White.
Survivors include two sons, David M. Swain of Hoboken and Jimmy L. Swain of Blackshear; grandchildren, Erika Nicole Swain Kimbrell (J.C.) and Christopher Stephen Swain (Violet); brother, Theodore Frank Thomas; two sisters, Lydia Thrift (Ronnie) and Leah Albritton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
