Former Clerk of Court Thomas Sauls is recipient of annual Liberty Bell Award

Former Pierce County Clerk of Court Thomas Sauls was recently presented with the Liberty Bell Award presented by the Waycross Judicial Circuit Bar Association.

The Liberty Bell Award is given annually to acknowledge someone who has provided outstanding community service.

The award recognizes those who promoted better understanding of the rule of law, encouraged greater respect for law and the courts, stimulated a sense of civic responsibility or contributed to good government in the community.

Sauls retired in December following 24 years of service as the Clerk of Superior Court of Pierce County. Sauls was first elected to the job in 2000.

Sauls is also active in the community as a faithful and active member of Patterson Baptist Church and as a dedicated volunteer with the Pierce County Volunteer Fire Department.
